The joined artistic project of Raúl and Federico began in October 2005 with the inauguration of the first Bencini Barcelona contemporary art gallery in Santa Caterina neighborhood, the city's historical and cultural heart. Their creative space very quickly became a cultural landmark in the neighborhood, hosting not only their own works, but also theatrical, musical and social events.
Federico Bencini - contemporary painter - was born in Siena in 1972 and spent the first thirty years of his life in Tuscany, in the heart of the Sienese hills. He obtained a bachelor degree at the "Duccio di Boninsegna" Art Institute (Siena), specialized in painting. To this day, Federico's works have been exhibited in galleries, at international fairs and have been presented in various design stores across Italy, Spain, Asia, the United States and northern Europe.
Raúl Pernía Fernández - contemporary plastic artist - was born in Cartagena in 1978. Since 1998 he established his residence in Barcelona. He studied plastic arts, floral arts, and visual arts in different schools across Catalonia and Madrid. After opening the art gallery together with his partner Federico Bencini, he entered a new period in which he began researching and experimenting with different creative ideas using materials such as iron, copper and brass which then become part of his creative world.
As well as Federico, he currently exhibits at international art fairs across all continents and has a presence in several design stores.
